The TEAm

Kathleen trellising cherry tomatoes

We have an amazing team that works hard every day to grow nourishing food. While we have different responsibilities and areas of expertise, we largely work together across the different aspects of the farm. In 2024 we will have about 6 full time positions and 5 part time positions.

Kathleen Ernsting plans weekly harvests and CSA administration, starts all our seedlings in the greenhouse, and leads the crew in various farm tasks. 2024 will be her 4th full season at Tributary. Her previous experience includes working on other local farms and managing NYC greenmarkets (among other food-related jobs). In her free time, she loves drying herbs for tea!

Marissa and Lucy at CSA pickup

Marissa Marzullo manages our wash and pack room, CSA markets, kitchen for food processing, and also leads the crew in various activities. 2024 will be her 4th full season at Tributary. She has over 13 years of extremely varied farm experience from running greenhouses to orchards to livestock! Marissa holds a bachelors of fine arts and is a certified Sommelier. She’s always got something delicious to share.

Lewis at the end of sweet potato harvest

Lewis Degrote joined our crew during the 2022 Fall harvest. He brings an enthusiastic attitude every day. Before joining our team he worked on a few different farms in the area, and recently has been caretaker for some local beef cows! He loves the outdoors and is a skilled hunter and fisherman. You’ll catch him playing his favorite folk music if you come to our annual member party!

Mia spreading ladybugs in the spinach tunnel

Mia Tramz joined the crew in 2023. She runs the Wednesday CSA pickup, manages much of our field irrigation and will be taking on much of the tractor work for the 2024 season. Prior to working at Tributary, she was part of the Trails Crew at Bryce Canyon National Park and The Long Trail in Vermont. In a previous life, Mia worked in journalism, specializing in visual storytelling at TIME Magazine for nearly a decade. Among many honors, She was named one of AdWeek’s Creative100 in 2020, and is a proud recipient of 2 Emmys for her work as an immersive experience producer! She spends time writing and producing as a freelancer in the off-season.
